An Amazon Firefighting truck prepares to be refueled near a wildfire near Amazon HQ in Seattle, Washington.
The Amazon Fire Fighting Truck will operate for up to 40 hours a day to combat fire on the West Coast, the company announced Wednesday.
“Amazon is proud to work with firefighters across the country and across the globe to help them fight fire and keep us safe,” said Amazon Firefighter Chief Chris Toth in a statement.
“The trucks are able to go anywhere in the world to do their job.”
Amazon is also providing free Amazon Firefighters’ Stands (Amazon Firefighters Stands) to firefighters in the U.S. and Canada to aid in firefighting operations.
The company also announced a $1 million donation to the Amazon Fire Foundation to help pay for equipment, training and supplies needed to help firefighters in other parts of the world.
