Burien, Washington, November 10, 2018 – The first Burien firefighting vehicle, the “Blackhawk,” is ready to take on the enemy.
Its crew will be joined by two other vehicles that will be able to fly in combat zones.
The Blackhawk, a 4,000-pound (1,700-kilogram) firefighting machine, is designed to work in conjunction with a large fleet of aircraft.
The vehicle was built in Burien and assembled by the company that makes the vehicles for the military and the military contractor Lockheed Martin, which is a partner of Lockheed Martin.
“We are very excited about this project,” said Bill Koon, executive vice president of the company, which also manufactures the Predator and the C-130 Hercules.
“Burien has a rich history of having some of the best military equipment in the world, but we have never had the opportunity to build something that is so robust, so capable of doing the job.”
The Blackhawks first flight test is scheduled for early next year, and the first vehicle will be ready to deploy in 2019.
Burien is an example of how the military can quickly adapt its combat aircraft to meet the rapidly evolving capabilities of modern warfare.
“It is the best opportunity to get this technology to Burien quickly, because they already have all of the equipment,” said Chris DeLong, the chief of the US Army’s Army Special Operations Command.
The new vehicles will be used by a small group of American troops in Afghanistan, as well as by the US Marine Corps and Army Reserve units that will train local troops in the field.
The Marines are expected to use the vehicles during training missions, as they do in Afghanistan.
“This is going to be a critical part of our mission,” said Capt. Mark Stokes, the Marine Corps’ operations officer for the new vehicles.
“The Blackhawk is designed for the next wave of warfighting,” he added.
Buried deep within the Army’s inventory of vehicles is a vehicle that could help the Marines fight back from enemy fire.
The Army purchased more than 3,000 Blackhawk firefighting vehicles in the 1970s and 1980s to respond to emergencies, but in the early 2000s the Army began to replace the vehicles with newer versions of the vehicles that can withstand heavy fire.
As part of the modernization program, the Blackhawk and the newer vehicles were retrofitted with Kevlar vests that have improved fire resistance and can withstand extreme temperatures.
The newer vehicles have been used in Afghanistan to fight against the Taliban, the Taliban’s armed wing, as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, and in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The U.S. military has also adapted the Blackhawks to the needs of counterinsurgency missions and the environment.
During the war in Afghanistan in 2001, the Pentagon bought more than 5,000 vehicles from several contractors, including Lockheed Martin and BAE Systems.
The cost of the vehicle was about $4 million per vehicle, but it is now estimated that the vehicles cost $35 million to operate.
“These vehicles are very robust, and they are also very reliable,” said Sgt. Brian Clements, a spokesman for the Marine Air Ground Task Force.
“If you are in a situation where there is an intense fire, like in Afghanistan or Iraq, then you are going to need more fire power than the Black Hawk could handle.”
The Marine Corps also has two Blackhawk aircraft that are ready for the same type of mission.
The Marine Air Systems Command is expected to begin fielding the two Blackhawks in 2018.
The Pentagon also has another Blackhawk in the pipeline that is also slated for delivery later this year.
A prototype of the new Blackhawk vehicles will first be tested at the Marine Corp’s test facility at Coronado, California, and then on a test stand at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
Lockheed Martin expects the vehicle to be ready by 2021.
“Once the vehicles are ready, they will be put into service with a fleet of U..
S.-trained ground combat specialists and local partners in the U.K.,” Koon said.
Lockheed will build the Blackhaws in the United States and Europe.
The company also plans to introduce the Black Haws to other countries, including Australia and Japan.
Lockheed has been building and delivering military aircraft for more than 100 years, including the F-16 fighter, F-22 stealth fighter and F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
The companies biggest customer is the U: A military contractor for almost 20 years, Lockheed Martin is the largest U.N. contractor.
Lockheed and Boeing were two of the biggest contractors in the Middle East and Asia before each other.
Lockheed is the world’s largest defense contractor, with $7.6 trillion in sales.
Boeing has about $3 trillion in revenue.
