Fire fighting vehicle for the C130 aircraft was launched on Tuesday.
The aircraft will have a maximum speed of 150kph and can fire at high-altitude winds of up to 70km/h.
It can carry around six firefighting personnel for the same.
The C130 firefighting aircraft is a joint project of the United States, Canada, France and the Netherlands.
The C130 has a maximum range of 12,000km, and can carry up to 6,000 personnel.
The Indian Air Force has been engaged in a long-running firefighting operation, with a number of aircraft deployed from the country’s capital, New Delhi.
